Donation Intake - Dock Associate

Job Summary:
The Dock Associate provides support to store operations by receiving and sorting donations and delivering to the Store Associates. He/she works within the guidelines, policies, and mission of the organization and will be accountable and responsible for specific projects as assigned.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure daily dock goals, projects and needs are accomplished through direction given by the Assistant Store Manager 
• Help donors that are bringing items to the store and provide donation receipt along with superior customer service.
• Work with volunteers and staff for dock coverage throughout the day to include lunches and breaks.
• Train and work with any community service workers regarding assignments in the dock area.
• Ensure all equipment is accessible and stored in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Overseas dumpster usage.
• Collect and dispose of all cardboard.
• Manage oversized items throughout the store and with customer pick-up.
• Drive truck when needed for pickups, trash disposal, and deliveries.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties of this job classification.

• Ability to withstand inclement weather, rain, snow, heat, cold
• Ability to exhibit proper lifting techniques
• Patience during the fast pace of the donation drop off
• Strict adherence to safety requirements
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment
• Exhibits discretion, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with the management team
• Exhibits a welcoming, customer-friendly attitude
