This role involves administering a wide range of physician-ordered medications, including oral, ophthalmic, topical, otic, nasal, vaginal, and rectal forms, as well as specific treatments such as insulin, epinephrine, B12 injections, inhaled medications, and disposable enemas. It includes performing finger-stick blood glucose testing and adhering to established clinical guidelines for all procedures. The position requires accurate documentation of medication administration or refusal, monitoring and reporting any adverse reactions, and ensuring proper storage and disposal of medications. Additionally, the role provides routine patient care such as bathing, grooming, and dressing, and performs dressing changes for skin conditions while communicating any changes to the licensed nurse.
