Senior AP Specialist - Finance

This is a full-time position with benefits. This position is responsible for performing the more complex and time sensitive accounts payable transactions and reporting. 
 
Major duties include but are not limited to:
1. Responsible for supporting AP functions including front end scanning, invoice entry, payment processing, reconciliation of AP balances in the GL and travel expense reimbursements. 
2. Add, review, and maintain Vendor files for accuracy and compliance with County policy and IRS regulations.
3. Reconcile and research vendor statements to ensure accounts remain in good standing.
4. Analyze and maintain outstanding checks to reduce the number of checks submitted to State for annual required Negative Holder Report.
5. Prepare and issue 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC annually to vendors and file required reports with IRS.
6. Prepare recurring and quarterly payments to various vendors as approved in the annual budget.
7. Review accounts payable check discrepancy reports and ensure corrections are completed timely including void and reissue of checks.
8. Resolve issues, serve as a resource in troubleshooting complex matters and ensure that problems are responded to in a timely manner.
9. Provide support for all payable transactions including wires, ACH transfers, and book transfers.
10. Provide audit support on all annual financial audit requests as related to Accounts Payable.
11. Reviews reports and activity related to job tasks, including updates to the Accounting Manager regarding missing items or known issues.
12. Greets the general public conducting business with Finance.
13. Assists in answering the Finance main phone line.
14. Tracks and updates Finance procedures related to Accounts Payable.
15. Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 
• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia.

Starting Salary - $47,974.04
