Lead Airport Maintenance Worker

The Peachtree City Airport Authority is seeking a motivated and experienced Lead Airport Maintenance Worker to help maintain the safe, efficient, and professional operation of Atlanta Regional Airport – Falcon Field (KFFC).

This is a full-time position offering a competitive pay range of $20.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. The Authority also offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, life, vision, and retirement benefits.

This hands-on leadership position is responsible for assisting with the supervision of airport maintenance staff while performing a wide variety of skilled maintenance tasks throughout the airport. Responsibilities include maintaining airport lighting and navigational aid (NAVAID) systems, runways and taxiways, fuel storage systems, buildings, hangars, security fencing, and airport grounds. The successful candidate will also operate and maintain heavy equipment, coordinate daily maintenance activities, respond to emergencies, and ensure compliance with airport safety standards.

The ideal candidate is a dependable team leader with experience in facility, electrical, mechanical, or heavy equipment maintenance who enjoys working outdoors in a dynamic aviation environment. Strong communication skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to respond to after-hours emergencies are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in airport maintenance or airport-related systems
  • Prior crew lead, team lead, or supervisory experience
  • Experience as an automotive and/or heavy equipment mechanic/technician
  • Heavy equipment operating experience
  • Experience operating within an Airport Movement Area (AMA)
  • Knowledge of airport lighting, pavement, building, and grounds maintenance

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Georgia driver's license
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physically demanding work, including bending, climbing, squatting, crawling, and working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screening
