Responsibilities:
- Delivers competent and quality care in compliance with physician order
- Takes appropriate action based on patient assessment.
- Reinforces parent and family education for care of the patient.
- Intervenes as appropriate to prevent or reduce patient injury.
- Maintains the privacy and supports the rights of patients and their families related to patient care.
- Communicates effectively with the family and staff to provide appropriate information relative to medical care.
- Cross coverage with the front desk staff.
- Works in a collaborative manner with other health care personnel.
- Acts in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act while complying with company policy and procedure.
- Performs work in line with company mission and values.
- Maintains appropriate professional credentials and accepts responsibility for personal and professional development.
- Obtains, verifies, and records health history of patients. Gathers pertinent health data through physical assessments and biological samples. Collects specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Provides basic patient care as ordered. Administers medications and treatments as directed. Assists other health care professionals in performing exams, diagnostic procedures and treatments, and minor medical procedures. Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies.
- Documents assessments, interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, and test results in medical records.
- Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
- Processing patients referrals to outside specialist.
- Pediatric phone triage experience a plus!!***
Minimum Requirements:
- Current nursing credentials to practice in the state of GA.
- A current background in pediatric nursing experience is required.
- Valid CPR certification
