SUMMARY 
Trilith LIVE is designed to host concerts, rehearsals, live audience productions, conventions, corporate meetings, performing arts, tradeshows, exhibitions, special events, and so much more! Spanning 530,000 square feet, Trilith LIVE features a 2,400-seat theater, 50,000 square feet of sound stages, multi-purpose meeting rooms, support space, dressing rooms, green rooms, production offices, suites, wardrobe, audience holding areas, outdoor plaza areas, full-service catering and concessions, box office, and a 730-space parking deck.
 
Trilith LIVE is seeking an accomplished venue professional to join the team as Director of Events. The Director of Events is responsible for directing, managing, and coordinating all aspects of events at Trilith Live. This role involves planning, organizing, and executing events, ensuring exceptional client and guest experiences. The Director of Events will contribute extensively to the growth and profitability of events by ensuring client requirements are met and facility rules, regulations, and policies are followed by serving as a liaison between the facility and clients. Directly manages event coordinator and event support staff. Work is performed with limited supervision and a high degree of managerial oversight is expected.
 
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Keeps the mission, vision and values of Trilith Live at the forefront of decision making and action; builds strategic and collaborative relationships and interacts with others in a way that builds confidence and trust; provides excellent customer service by taking action to accomplish objectives, maintains high levels of work and productivity by generating innovative solutions to work situations. 
• Meets with and guides clients to plan and organize assigned events and interprets, explains, and implements contract provisions, facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Directs and manages event services, delivery methods, and procedures within Trilith Live leading to increased event revenue, reduced event expenses, and the overall success of the events.
• Clearly communicates detailed event requirements to operational departments for event set-up, break-down needs, and production needs. 
• Ensures that all areas of event management are executed in a manner that will deliver outstanding client and guest experiences.
• Develops and grows the team while building and sustaining a positive, result-driven culture with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
• Consistently reviews internal processes, including communicating effectively with customers, and makes recommendations for process improvements.
• Reviews subordinate event documents for each event. 
• Meets with customers and stakeholders to advance, direct and manage events.
• Manages activities with the various service contractors for events.
• Manages customers by interpreting and explaining contract provisions, policies, and procedures. 
• Manages event cost estimates and ensures all costs are paid per contractual requirements.
Serves as primary event division liaison with clients.
• Manages and resolves client requests and concerns in a timely and efficient manner.
• Prepares the annual budget for the division; reviews with, and solicits feedback from, the General Manager. Submits the annual budget upon final approval.
• Attends appropriate meetings in support of the division.
• Implements responsibilities in accordance with Trilith Live policies.
• Provides periodic event progress reports.
• Required to work irregular schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays to accommodate business and client needs in the facility.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises Full and Part-Time Staff and Vendors; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Assistant General Manager and General Manager, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university required.
• Additional experience may be substituted for education.
• Minimum 5 years of related event management experience, preferably in a similar venue or hospitality industry segment.
• A good knowledge of the principles of administration related to facilities and services in the event management industry. 
• A general knowledge of the services, vendors, or other organizations involved in producing events. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Event Management Software, and Event Floor Plan Diagramming.
• Sound organizational, planning, and people skills. 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects. 
• Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills. 
• Professional appearance and strong work ethic. 
• Ability to work well as a collaborator.
• Requires ability to work flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.
