Line Cook Team Member
OVERVIEW: The Line/Prep Cook is responsible for running the line at Clean Eatz, a quick service healthy Dine-in restaurant. Daily, the Line Cook will be responsible for cooking and prepping food for our menu items, such as; grilling proteins and veggies, preparing wraps, flat breads, salads, burgers, build-your-own-bowls, etc. for dine-in or take-out. Being a healthy restaurant, NO deep fryers/grease here! The Line/Prep Cook must be comfortable in a FAST-paced environment during high-volume hours and have a positive attitude. The ideal candidate is an open-minded and hard-working individual who is interested in growing with a strong-valued local company.
JOB DUTIES:
- Learning and building from recipes, menu items, and presentation standards.
- Prepare simple dishes such as salads, flat breads, wraps, burgers, etc.
- Preparing a cold and hot line in the morning and/or breakdown line.
- Working the line during rush periods and prepping and restocking for the next rush.
- Helping prepare catering, large orders and meal plans in between peak hours.
- Operating standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by helping with washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, sweeping /mopping of kitchen area, cleaning appliances and kitchen equipment, etc.
- Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
- Adhering to all sanitation and food production codes while following health and safety guidelines.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
- Full understanding of how to cook on a flattop, set up, clean, stock, and break down a line. Previous and recent restaurant line cook experience. (Preferred)
- Knowledge of food service policies/procedures for IL state health laws, ServSafe Food Handlers (Preferred).
- Ability to handle fast paced and high stress situations during high volume hours.
- Strong attention to detail; quick learner & team player.
- Ability to listen and communicate effectively in a team environment.
- Must be able to regularly move boxes, weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to position themself to bend, reach, scoop and stand throughout assigned shifts.
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to food allergens (almonds, cashews, dairy, etc)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 yrs old.
- Must have reliable transportation
